cryptictac's House/Cuddy/Wilson/Amber Drabble-A-Thon. Prompt was say 'cheese'! The shops of The Princeton Shopping Center were filled with people. Very noisy people, as House kept noting every five minutes. Wilson briefly wondered why House had even wanted to come along with Amber and him, but then he realised that was a stupid thing to wonder, and turned his thoughts to other things.
Such as the fact that House was currently shoving Amber into a photo booth, and seemed intent on pushing him in next.
'House, what the hell?' was all he managed to get out before he too was being crammed into the small, rectangular, cell-like booth. He shot a confused look at Amber, who was grinning in much the same way House was.
'What, don't want to be huddled in a space that is clearly too small for two people, let alone three?' she asked. 'I can't possibly see why that would be a problem.' She grabbed Wilson's wallet from his pocket and handed it to House. 'There, put the money in. And only take the $3.00 for the pictures.'
House made a show of dejectedly putting a $20.00 back into the wallet, but otherwise did as he was told.
Wilson was still very much confused.
'Why are we in a photo booth?'
'To take pictures.' He really hated it when Amber and House spoke at the same time. It was just so... unnerving.
'It's tradition,' House added. 'When you go to the mall with your friends, or well, your friend and his lady friend, you all shove in and take pictures in a photo booth.'
'I think you're forgetting that we're not teenagers, House.' House just shrugged and began clicking through the options screen, choosing a border for their strip of pictures.
'I'm thinking the Best Friends Forever one fits us all perfectly,' Amber said. House laughed and chose that one, causing Wilson to roll his eyes.
'You two are ridiculous.'
They were obviously quite cramped in the booth, but that fact became even more apparent when the screen began projecting the image of the three of them as it prepared to take a picture. Amber was on the far right, side pressed snuggly against the wall of the booth, half sitting on Wilson's lap. Wilson himself was in the middle (of course) with House's leg resting up on the part of his lap not being occupied by Amber. His arms were squashed against his sides by the arms of his two companions. All in all, it wasn't a very comfortable place to be.
'Say cheese, Wilson.' Amber kissed his cheek, and out of the corner of his eye, he could see House making a face of mock-disgust just as the camera went off.
The screen went blank for a moment before once again projecting their image. House and Amber adjusted themselves against Wilson's side, so that they were somehow even more on top of him. The camera went off before they were done doing whatever it was they were going to do, capturing Amber mid-speech, Wilson looking confused (still), and House with a rare smile on his face.
The next picture went by in much the same fashion, catching all three of them in various stages of unpreparedness.
For the last one, House seemed to feel he needed to upstage the first one, and planted a kiss right on Wilson's lips. Amber was laughing.
They all scrambled out of the booth and waited for their pictures to print. As House and Amber argued over which store they would visit next, Wilson silently slipped the photo strip into his pocket, a small smile on his face.
