Uuugh I love this soooo much even if it gave me way too many feels. I love the idea of a nation becoming human instead of just disappearing and honestly, I find it way way sadder that way, because now instead of this quick departure that allows one to move into mourning pretty quickly, you have this weird situation where both Romano and Spain know that Romano's dying and they're both mourning that and feeling that loss while he's still alive, and it's just so freaking depressing. The little scenes that you chose to highlight, like seeing the first wrinkle, were so perfect and punctuated that sadness. Angst attempt is successful!!! AH LOVE YOU BB.
